Swiss Lodge Hotel Bernerhof Wengen, Wengen

The hotel was in a quiet area, very basic but clean and met our needs. It had a good size room with a balcony and a view of the cable car. The service was efficient but reception staff were rarely seen, which could be attributed to a language barrier. The location was central in Wengen, close to amenities and the cable car. The dining options were simple but satisfactory with a good selection of fresh items. Overall, a budget-friendly choice with basic amenities and a convenient location.

Heading up the stairs to my room, I found nice hot water available. However, I encountered an issue with the hot water in the wash basin. The hotel is right in the middle of the village, making it easy to access the ski lift, but it is on the pricey side, as is common in Switzerland.

The hotel offers clean and tidy rooms, a central location near transportation, and adequate dining options. However, the service can be slow and lacking in friendliness at times.

Staying at this hotel was an interesting experience. The rooms were like a youth hostel room with wooden bunks and a sink, but they had private facilities and fabulous views over the church and Alpine valley at the back. The reminder every half hour about the good time spent was a nice touch. However, not having a microwave available for heating food was a downside.

The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, just near the Mannlichen lift and a short walk from the train station, making it a breeze to get around. The rooms were fresh and clean, offering great comfort, but there were some unpleasant smells in certain areas. The service, although attempting to multitask, was friendly and even provided transport services. The dining options included a typical continental buffet with some unique homemade selections. While the hotel had no notable facilities, the surroundings were lively and central to the town, yet sometimes lacking staff availability at reception.
